Automatic number plate recognition (ANPR)

Open/public
Start date: 14-03-2014 - 00:00
End date: 30-06-2014 - 23:59

Welcome to this extended technical dialogue concerning automatic number plate recognition (ANPR) for the Danish Police.

We would like to thank you for your participation in the technical dialogue so far. Your feed back is much appreciated!

The dialogue will close by the end of 30 June 2014.

The purpose of the dialogue was to explain the approach of Rigspolitiet (the Danish National Police) and provide information about the expected specifications, to seek information which may be used to adjust the specifications and to help identify any alternative solutions. The Danish National Police also hoped to gain insights concerning market characteristics and service options.

The Association of Chief Police Officers of England, Wales and Northern Ireland has published a report by a working group on the working of ANPR and the English police’s use of ANPR - in assisting the prevention and detection of crimes such as burglary, drug offences, sexual assaults and murder. The Danish police plans to use ANPR in a similar way. Therefore the English report might be relevant to potential suppliers and other stakeholders. The report is available at:
